What Is The Difference Between Interior And Exterior Paint?

Two types of wall paint are usually applied to a house, namely interior paint and exterior paint. Interior paint is paint that is used in the house to highlight the aspect of beauty. While paint the outside of my house is painting for the outside of the house. Interior paint can be seen from the refinement of the appearance of the paint layer and its color. Also, certain types of paint are easy to clean if there are stains or dirt. To facilitate maintenance, judging from the gloss level, usually, water-based wall paint can be divided into 2, namely matte and almost glossy. Interior paint is also not easy to mold to damp parts, a layer of paint can cover fine cracks in walls.

Besides providing an aesthetic aspect, the exterior paint also serves to protect the walls from the weather. Walls are the part that is most affected by weather changes such as wind and sun exposure, rain, and temperature changes. As a result, the outer wall is damaged more quickly. Therefore it requires paint that is resistant to weather so that it is not easily damaged. The damage caused water seepage during the rainy season to the inner walls. This can cause spots on the inner walls. So, interior paint clearly cannot be used for the exterior. On the other hand, exterior paint can be used for interiors, but it will be expensive. Interior paint is free from heavy metal content such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), and mercury (Hg). Meanwhile, exterior paint, in addition to providing an aesthetic aspect to the wall and free from heavy metal content, also serves to protect the walls from the weather.

Walls exposed to sunlight, rain and changes in temperature due to weather changes make the outer walls quickly experience damage such as cracked walls. That is the need for paint that is resistant to weather so that it is not easily damaged. Damage to the walls causes water seepage during the rainy season to the inner walls. Usually causes spots on the inner walls. Also, certain types of exterior paint can cover the occurrence of hair cracks on the walls.
